President El-Sisi Directs the Establishment of Integrated Investment Zones Around Egyptian Airports

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has directed the establishment of integrated investment zones around Egyptian airports in a move aimed at enhancing strategic partnerships and attracting more foreign direct investment into the civil aviation sector according to a statement issued by the Presidential Spokesperson.

The President emphasized the importance of adhering to environmental standards in the implementation of all aviation sector activities and projects in line with the state’s vision to transition toward a green economy and achieve a more efficient and sustainable aviation system.

Presidential Spokesperson Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy stated that President El-Sisi was briefed on the progress of the new Terminal 4 project at Cairo International Airport.

The Minister of Civil Aviation presented details of the project noting that the new terminal’s capacity will reach approximately 30 million passengers annually, increasing the airport’s total capacity to more than 60 million passengers per year. He added that the new terminal will be equipped with the latest smart technologies making it one of the most advanced passenger terminals globally and offering travelers an exceptional and integrated travel experience.

The spokesperson added that the meeting also reviewed the latest developments in efforts to enhance the efficiency of Egyptian airports and increase their operational capacity. This comes as part of the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s plan to reach 72.2 million passengers annually by the end of 2025 while simultaneously improving service quality for travelers and supporting the state’s target of increasing tourist arrivals to 30 million annually.
