The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources has announced a new natural gas discovery in the Western Desert, as part of ongoing efforts to boost local energy production.
The discovery follows the drilling of an exploratory well in the South Kalabsha area, with initial estimates indicating the potential to add around 26 million cubic feet of natural gas per day, along with approximately 2,700 barrels of condensates.
The new discovery is located near existing production sites, which will help accelerate development and reduce costs by leveraging nearby infrastructure and available production facilities.
This achievement reflects the success of recently implemented policies and incentives aimed at supporting exploration activities, which have contributed to attracting more investments and expanding operations in promising areas.
